BOZEMAN 鈥?A man is dead after a Bozeman Police officer shot him early Friday morning while responding to an alleged assault call.According to a press release, Bozeman Police Chief Steve Crawford said officers responded to a call at a residence on Summer View Lane in Bozeman involving a reportedly intoxicated man who was adidas og assaulting his adult male roommate at approximately 11:44 p.m.Officers found the roommate outside the residence and the suspect was inside but was not cooperative with their instructions.At approximately 12:07 a.m. the suspect, reportedly armed with a hatchet and a han salomon dgun, came toward officers when an officer shot the man. He was pronounced dead at the scene.There were no injuries to the officers. The incident remains under investigation by the Montana Division of Criminal Investigation, assisted by the Gallatin County Sheriffs Office.This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
